Welcome to the English Blog for Choc Seven 超克7 (formerly known as 模范七棒 Mo Fan Qi Bang), the 二軍 (Er Jun, 2nd group of artists officially signed to Channel [V] & Gold Typhoon) from 模范棒棒堂 (the hit comedy variety show, Mo Fan Bang Bang Tang, airing on Channel [V]).
超克7 comprises of 阿本 (Ah Ben), 小馬 (Xiao Ma), 小祿 (Xiao Lu), 鮪魚(Wei Yu), 李銓 (Li Quan), 野獸 (Ye Shou) and 毛弟 (Mao Di).

This article revealed some of the content on the behind-the-scenes DVD that came with Choc 7’s ‘Tai Qing Chun’ EP.
In the DVD, there was a section where every member shared experiences close to their heart.
Aben expressed that he seldom says things close to his heart on the show, as he mainly concentrates on performing or making everybody laugh.
In the past, WeiYu’s father has been particularly strict on his onscreen performance and after not doing so well on an elimination round, his father actually threw WeiYu out of the house. As a result, WeiYu had to live at his friend’s house for a month but on some occasions, his friend did not come home so WeiYu had to sleep in the streets or on his motorcycle. This caused WeiYu to be extremely depressed and he would often secretly hide to cry alone. However, this experience empowered WeiYu to stand up for himself and be more determined.
Out of the seven members, MaoDi, LiQuan and YeShou have never been in a proper relationship and Aben has been in the most relationships. In fact, Aben has been in up to seven relationships in the past. As a result, Aben joked that all the other members admire him in this aspect!
AndyGe responded that some members have expressed their desire to be in a relationship before, and clarified that there is no rule that stops them from doing so. In fact, there is nothing related to love and partners in the contract. However, he hopes that MaoDi, for example, would only be in a relationship after he turns twenty. This is because AndyGe believes that the three members, who haven’t had a relationship before, would quickly get into one just for the sake of it and end up hurting themselves. MaoDi revealed that the group has discussed this issue on several occasions but he is in no rush to get into a relationship. LiQuan added that he also does not have any particular wish to be in a relationship and that YeShou is the only one who hopes to be in one by next year, so that he would be the first out of the three to have the experience!
In addition, YeShou’s weight problem has been a burden for AndyGe. YeShou stated that before he came on MoFanBangBangTang he had been 67kg and then afterwards he gained weight until he was 80kg. Currently, he is 76kg. AndyGe joked that if YeShou does not lose 5kg within the next six months, Choc 7 would become Choc 6 and he would open a new group for YeShou, called ‘Fat Candy’, instead!
As one of YeShou’s closer friends, LiQuan revealed that YeShou does not have enough self-control to lose weight. He would successfully eat less for about two days before eating hearty meals again.

The DVD for Winds of September:The Taiwan Chapter (more commonly known as Winds of September/九降風) was released recently, so the film has also been uploaded for viewing on tudou and YouTube. Winds of September runs for a total of 107 minutes. In significance, this is MaoDi's film debut, and it is amusing to see him credited by his real name, as Chiu Yi-Cheng or 邱翊橙, in some English reviews and the credits. In summary, the film is focused around seven boys, who form a tight knit gang, and explores their friendships and how they change through time. I have been browsing around for a good synopsis or review of this film. Consequently, I found a pretty decent synopsis from The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), which selected Winds of September: The Taiwan Chapter as part of its showcase for the 2008 festival:'For the Taiwan chapter of the Winds of September trilogy, director Tom Shu-Yu Lin brings us a coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of the Taiwan baseball game-fixing scandal of 1996 – an event that shocked the nation and decimated the Taiwanese leagues. As a gang of friends move towards the end of their final high-school year an accident tears their world apart.' From what I've read about the film at the moment, I find it interesting how they used the Baseball League scandal as a parallel metaphor for the conflict the characters experience as they leave their childhood ignorance behind and mount the path to maturity.
