One of the earliest episodes of the first season, this particular episode focused on the topic of Valentine's Day.
The first segment featured a discussion with four main questions relating to the didis' Valentine's Day experiences.
The opening question was, 'has your experience of confessing your love for somebody on Valentine's Day been a success or a failure?'
XiaoFu (小賦), one of the first generation didis, advised everybody to never confess on Valentine's Day, as people ideally choose to confess before the actual day. As a result, every girl that XiaoFu has confessed to on Valentine's Day has declined his offer to go out on a date and often tell him that unfortunately, he is 'one step behind'.
Monkey also shared an amusing story, where he was asked to confess on his friend's part to a girl. Unfortunately for his friend, Monkey and the girl both fell in love with each other instead, and ended up dating. Monkey's story immediately provoked the other didis to tease him and frame him as a playboy. In response, Monkey denied having a playboy personality and pointed out that XiaoYu appears to be more of the playboy type because had heard that XiaoYu has had many girlfriends. XiaoYu replied that he had only broken up on Valentine's Day and his relationships often seem to go askew whenever Valentine's Day approaches.
In addition, GuaGua revealed that XiaoYu had once gone on dates with three different girls on Valentine's Day. XiaoYu admitted that this was true, but defended himself by saying that he was young and immature, and his intentions were only pure, as he had found it difficult to refuse other offers when he already had a date. FanFan teased him by saying that she refused to believe that XiaoYu could be so innocent when he was already in his high school years.
The next question posed to the didis was, 'what was the craziest thing that somebody has done for you?' Apple shared her own experience of knowing a boy, who continually bought food for her and even recorded a video of himself singing a love song especially written for Apple. However, Apple did not accept this boy because she found him to be too direct and a bit creepy.
On his whiteboard, AoQuan wrote that he had once 'encountered a lunatic'. He explained how he had felt that someone was always staring at him whilst he was participating in a dance competition, and later realized that it was a female dance member on his team. This girl somehow found his phone number and every night she would call him very late and ask him what he was doing. FanFan interjected that this didn't count as an admirer, but rather a stalker.
Terry talked about how a girl one year below him in middle school would give him a love letter and ham, eggs and ice milk tea for breakfast, every morning. Finally Terry decided to write a letter for her in return, and as a result, the girl never wrote any love letters for him again. When questioned by Fan Fan why this was the case, Terry replied that it was probably because he told her in his letter that he actually didn't like ham and eggs!
Similarly to AoQuan, Aben also experienced the feeling of being stalked by a girl, who found his MSN and started talking to him. Initially, Aben thought it was fine and quite enjoyed talking to her, until the girl started asking creepily specific questions, such as, 'did you enjoy eating lunch on the second floor today?' She also refused to reveal who she was, but then Aben found out that it was a girl, who was one year below him at school, and who had actually intended to seem caring and ask after him.
Another first generation didi, YaXiu (亞修), added that a little girl had found his MSN on his Wretch profile and talked to him briefly. Later, YaXiu found out that she had written an entry about him on her Wretch blog and described their relationship (or lack thereof) to be a 'love story' that was like a 'dream'. YaXiu's girlfriend also found out and gave him a severe scolding and sarcastically acknowledged his ability to 'swallow primary school children'.
The third question was, 'what is the most romantic thing that you have done on Valentine's Day?
XiaoXun and Apple opened the discussion by describing romantic things that boys had done for them. In particular, XiaoXun revealed how a boy often went out especially just to buy food for her whenever she mentioned that she was hungry, and also made her a box filled with photos of them together on Valentine's Day.
Apple thought that a treasure hunt, which a boy created for her in order to let her retrieve her Valentine's Day present, was particularly romantic because it was exciting to find little notes that directed her to different places all over the city.
The first didi to answer this question was XiaoJie, and he shared two things that he had done for his girlfriend. The first was a surprise trip to an amusement park, where his girlfriend had always wanted to go but he had complained that it was too childish and boring. The second was when he rushed to the florist's after work, on Valentine's day in a single layer of clothing, despite it being freezing cold outside, to buy his girlfriend some flowers. He also anonymously sent them to her office, and as a result, received an excited phone call from her, where she bragged that a secret admirer had sent her flowers. In response, XiaoJie muttered, 'what kind of lunatic would do that?', and his girlfriend realized that it was actually his doing all along. AoQuan also made an unrelated joke that XiaoJie was a very good boy and lately even has a liking for a girl, who is well endowed with large breasts. XiaoJie giggled but then explained that this girl is only a friend and having a good figure is her own folk's business, haha.
XiaoBin described a romantic night where he watched DVDS in the dark, and cooked together with his love interest.
The following question was, 'what is the worst Valentine's Day present that you have ever received?' FanFan, Apple and XiaoXun initiated the discussion again with the mutual agreement that Ferrero Rochers' made a corny present. Apple also personally found flowers to be a waste.
WangZi, then known by his English name, 'Prince', thought some fake flowers given to him by an anonymous sender, was a pretty strange present and FanFan added that she finds girls giving boys flowers to be a peculiar action. In defence for fake flowers, XiaoXun rebutted that they serve as a versatile gift and she had even given some cotton material flowers to a boy before.
XiaoYu talked about how a girl had made a box of cookies for him, but unfortunately they broke up before he finished them, which he found particularly infuriating.
Hiro claimed that he had received a banana from someone on Valentine's Day because they noticed that he hadn't had afternoon tea. XiaoFu then questioned Hiro whether this person was a girl or a boy, to which Hiro replied that it was a boy and only a friend. As a joke, XiaoFu asked whether this boy really gave Hiro his 'banana'.
AoQuan also revealed that the worst present he had received on Valentine's Day was a kiss, because he was anticipating an actual present. XiaoFu interpreted this to mean that AoQuan would have preferred his girlfriend to wrap herself up and give herself to him.
On the other hand, XiaoFu expressed that he didn't like to receive presents at all, because he doesn't like being faced with the burden of having to return gifts, which caused Apple to tell XiaoFu off for being lazy. FanFan also added that it is easy to give presents because if the opposite party gives you a banana, then you can always give them something similar, like an apple, in return. (I suspect some sexual innuendo intended in her comment, haha.)
Furthermore, Aben explained that his worst present was being cheated on, as his girlfriend went out with another guy, without warning, leaving Aben to wait alone outside her house all day.
The second segment gave didi's the opportunity to confess their love for someone. To kick off this part of the show, Aben revealed that he secretly had a crush on a girl for seven years. To be continued...
